Issues and Challenges Faced by Rural Women Students for Their Higher Education: A Study

Abstract

The problem of unemployment, illiteracy for their parents is the main reason for the low higher status of rural women. The rural women higher education problems may be eliminated only through collective social action for which the GOs, NGOs, Corporate sector should involved and contribute towards effective empowerment rural women. The present study revealed that there has been significant progress in the performance of women education as the female literacy rate has been increasing over the period and also the gaps between male and female literacy rates are there in our society. Here gender bias played a vital role and domination of rural women in various aspects. The analysis of the data collected has proved that the women face very many serious problems in the course of their studies, but these problems are not insoluble. Some Possible measures to reducing the difficulties faced by rural women in access to higher education should be followed like- government should take steps for making education process easier and inexpensive.
